With over 10 years experience as a mental health professional I have always been committed to people, community, and health. In the past I have been a mental health nurse, meditation coach, and a counsellor with rich experience to draw from.
I have experience in providing therapy for clients experiencing life stage transitions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, C-PTSD, and couples therapy. Due to a special interest in trauma therapy I have experience working with veterans and domestic violence survivors.
The therapy modalities I am experienced in providing include: Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Somatic Therapy, and I am currently completing EMDR certification. This means that sessions may include a mixture of talk therapy, with structure of collaborative and personalised goals, connecting and exploring your feelings and body sensations, and practicing grounding tools such as breathing techniques.
My aim in each session is to support and foster the potential in all of my clients. The pace of therapy can ebb and flow where sometimes it can be slow paced and other times it can feel like we connect all the parts together quickly. I appreciate and encourage openness and feedback from my clients where I collaborate with each client to ensure the style of therapy is curated to your personal needs and preferences which may change as we continue therapy together.
